Long oppressed by the corporate giant, Mew Paper Arts was created as the whimsical escape of a 6'x8' cubicle with ace-bandage colored walls. What began as a doodle in the margin of a legal pad has bloomed into a unique and charming operation offering you stationery products to suit every occasion--as well as a few unexpected goodies in the mix!

I'm Alissa Sampogna--the designer and illustrator behind Mew Paper Arts and the freshly hatched Mew Baby. A peek into my studio in suburban Danbury, Connecticut would reveal my cat (and business partner) Cooper practicing being a rug, racks of paper in colors good enough to eat and probably one or two empty tea cups. Inspiration for my products comes from everything I see and touch: the trusting nature of animals, a magical treasure washed up by the sea, or the repetitive pattern of a well worn vintage textile. I am overwhelmed sometimes at the rate that ideas fall out of my head, and it's when I'm drawing that I feel most at ease.

Every item in the Mew Paper Arts and Mew Baby studio has been handmade with pure intentions for the environment, the artist and you, the consumer. That means human hands created that charming character in the drawing, folded the paper it's printed on, squirted on that dashing sprinkle of glitter, and sealed your package with a lot of love. When you buy a handmade gift not only are you supporting a quirky gal and her fat cat, you're giving a gift that has its own tiny heart.
